Services Offered:

Transcription of video/audio file(s) in American English produced in Microsoft Word format (.doc). (Note:   All other languages spoken will be noted as to have been spoken, but will not be transcribed.) Transcripts are done as clean verbatim unless true verbatim is specifically requested.

Clean Verbatim: The omission of non-verbal utterances such as ‘uh,’ ‘umm,’ false starts, double-doubled words, and st-st-stutters.

True Verbatim: The ‘uh’ and ‘umm,’ double-doubled, st-st-stutters, and other non-verbal utterances are transcribed.

(NOTE: Unless otherwise requested, transcripts are done with one space between sentences, contractions corrected, and Oxford commas used.)

Common File Types Accepted:   .mp4, .mp3, .m4a, .wma, .mov, .wav.

Common File Types Produced: .doc, .docx, .pdf, .txt, .rtf, .md.

How it works: It is best to contact me via telephone or email. I can receive audio/video files through a number of different formats (email, Google Drive, DropBox, etc.).   We discuss what exactly you need and when you need it. Let me know if you have a specific template/font/format you want used.   Once I complete the transcript, I will let you know it has been completed. I will send you an invoice through PayPal. As soon as I receive payment, I release the transcript to you.   (Usually sent via email, but can send/share via other methods as well.) If you do not use/prefer PayPal, other payment methods can be used. This can all be discussed/negotiated.

Turnaround times for transcription: Turnaround times are counted as calendar days not counting major holidays. Turnaround times greatly depend on my workload. On average, one hour of audio can be turned around in 48 to 72 hours. Please be sure to let me know if you need a quick turnaround time and what your deadlines are.

What you get back:
Format: The transcription file will be a Microsoft Word document (.doc). If a different document type is needed, please specify, and I will do my best to accommodate that request.

Delivery: Finished transcripts are emailed to you when completed and payment has been received. If you require a different delivery method, please let me know as soon as possible.

Payment: My preferred method of payment is through PayPal. However, other arrangements can be made.
