Find/Create Embed Link Code for Scheduled YouTube Video

Published by Tina on

For some time now, I have been publishing how-to videos on YouTube. More recently has been the creation of this blog on the website.   Merging the two together has been a huge milestone goal in order to delivery great video content paired up with some additional written information.

Scheduling YouTube videos, as well as scheduling blog posts, is a very useful tool in ensuring that they are published at a consistent date and time. In order to insert the scheduled YouTube video into the scheduled blog post, the embed code was needed. Because I didn’t know how to create my own embed code, I trolled several YouTube videos in search of a how-to video. While there were many videos on how to find the embed code for a published video, nowhere could I find a video tutorial on where to locate the embed link code for a scheduled video.

After staring at these codes for a few minutes, it became apparent that there was some commonality between the embed code and the share link that YouTube provides. That’s when it dawned on me to just swap the segment of letter and number combination from the embed code of an already published video with the letter and number combination part of the share link for my scheduled video. Eureka!   It worked!
In this video, you will get step-by-step instructions on how to create your own embed link, which I suggest you save as a template in order to create future link codes. You will also get step-by-step instructions on how to find the embed code for the scheduled video by taking a few extra steps and switching to “Unlisted.”
Here is the link to the PDF with the codes, as described in this video: Embed Link Code for YouTube Video
Again, by checking/unchecking the boxes under the “Embed” link associated with your video, you can customize the link code to exactly how you want the video to look and play in your blog. I highly encourage you to save (to your computer) this embed link as a template for future videos you are scheduling in YouTube.
If you have any additional questions, please leave a comment (either below this video or below the blog post).
Thank you! See you next week!
